To Whom Waterless Toilets May Concern:

I feel it pertinent to introduce the Dehydrating  Zerho Waterless Toilet to you.

A Product of South Africa.

The Zerho is a SEALED unit; providing safe containment of effluent until dry.

The Zerho Waterless Toilet can be installed in an elevated position.

This is a big benefit for high water-table sites where other Sanitation Interventions are not possible.

As a Crisis Relief Intervention, the Zerho Toilet is also the answer.

What is done with the dry waste and urine?

Urine is sterile.  It is diverted from under the toilet seat and the separate urinal - to a simple soak-away (small French drain); or collected as a fertilizer.

The solid waste is dried inside the Zerho unit and removed every 2 weeks; or when the collection basket is half-full.

This waste can be burnt;  or added to a vermi-compost trench (creating humanure) for sustainable community food gardens.

The pathogens in the dried waste are eliminated by the heat (sunshine) and oxygen (effective air flow)

during the drying process; and therefore safe to use in a compost trench.

No additives or chemicals are used or needed.

Methodology:

We have found that most success is achieved when the community is fully involved; and take ownership of the Zerho Toilet in their own home.

We do this through Community Cooperatives.

The full-cycle benefit of the Zerho Toilet is communicated right from the start;

with emphasis on the application of the dry waste for Sustainable Gardening for Food Security.

In Conclusion:

With the intention to impact positively on the lives of many people, we would like to discuss with you the possibilities around

local manufacturing of the product, with spin-offs like sustainable business, skills transfer, food gardens and more..

– besides offering a Sustainable Sanitation Solution.

What would work for you and the communities and industries you support?  How could the Zerho Toilet add value here?
